Anti-Virus Software Information

Anti-virus software is an essential part of safe computing. Proof of current anti-virus software is required for network access in all campus housing areas and for wireless access. This requirement applies to all computing operating systems including Windows, Apple/Macintosh and handheld computing devices.

Cal Poly provides FREE Symantec Antivirus software to all eligible Cal Poly users. People with access to a high-speed Internet connection can download the software from the My Cal Poly web portal (see below).

Faculty and staff should contact their LAN Coordinator to install and configure Symantec AntiVirus on their campus computer. If you do not have a LAN Coordinator, contact the ITS Service Desk for assistance (see below).

If you have problems downloading the software, contact the ITS Service Desk (see below). Residence hall students should contact ResNET to make sure their computer is properly configured to use the Cal Poly and Residence Hall networks.
